Storm Hub Hudson Valley: Dangerous Conditions
Snow emergencies have been declared, closings and delays are coming in for Thursday. Check back for updates.

Per the New York State Police, as of March 7, 2018 at 11:00 p.m. all travel and truck restrictions have been lifted. All roadways with previous restrictions are open and traffic is flowing normally.
9 p.m. The National Weather Service said snow has begun tapering off. But don't shovel too soon.
8:47 p.m. - New Castle police have declared a State of Emergency in town, citing dangerous conditions on local roads.

7:15 p.m. - School districts in the Hudson Valley have started announcing closings and delays for Thursday, March 8. We'll keep updating the list as more schools make their decisions.

4:49 p.m. - Metro-North Railroad reports the Upper Hudson Line Southbound service is experiencing residual delays of 20 to 25 minutes due to an earlier downed utility pole near Beacon. Lower Hudson Line service is operating on or close to schedule.
4:37 p. m. - Orange & Rockland Utilities reports 6,000 customers out of power. Crews are still working on restoring power to customers who lost it in Friday's nor'easter.

3:40 p.m. - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has deployed the National Guard to conduct wellness checks in parts of the Hudson Valley due to continuing power outages and the worsening storm.

2:37 p.m. - Bee-Line buses and Paratransit vehicles are running with about 40-minute delays in Westchester. These routes are traveling on the standard snow detours:
- Rts. 8, 13B, 32, and 60.
- Route 2 is traveling on Broadway between De Haven Dr. and Getty Square.
- Rts. 5 & 7 are traveling detouring from Getty Square-from Palisade Ave. right on New School St. left onto Nepperhan Ave.
The Westchester County Airport is open and operating normally. Passengers should check with their carrier for more specific flight information.
1:06 p.m. The National Weather Service warns of isolated lightning strikes as the storm intensifies over Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties in the afternoon. Afternoon Lightning Strikes Possible: Hudson Valley Nor'easter
1:15 p.m. - There are still about 18,000 households in the Hudson Valley that still do not have electricity. It's too early to tell whether the storm that started Wednesday will make things worse.

12:30 p.m. - New York state officials have restricted travel on major roadways during the Wednesday nor'easter.

11: 40 a.m. - At midmorning, the National Weather service again revised its snow accumulation prediction for the lower Hudson Valley. A band of heavy snow is expected to affect northern New Jersey, Orange and Putnam counties.


Many places in the Hudson Valley are still coping with the aftermath of last week’s massive nor’easter. Thousands are still without power and some roads are closed because of downed trees and wire, even as the new storm arrives.

The New York State Thruway Authority put out an advisory Tuesday evening: "Heavy snow expected from NYC to Syracuse on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Motorists are advised to avoid travel, if possible." The state has issued a travel advisory that includes high-profile vehicles on major roadways. NY State Police report that Interstate 84 is closed from Connecticut to Pennsylvania for commercial vehicles, tractor trailers, this includes box trucks, high profile trucks and buses, and Interstate 684 is closed to the same vehicles from Interstate 84 to RT 287.
