U.S. Census Recruiting Event Set For Somers

SOMERS, NY — The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring for a variety of temporary full-time and flexible part-time jobs. The bureau said the pay rates start at $17 per hour.

A 2020 Census Recruiting Event will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Town of Somer.

At the Somers Library, Route 139 and Reis Park, you will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of the census, find out what jobs are available and apply in person.

Representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau will be on hand at the event to help you.

Qualifications include being at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen. You must have a valid Social Security number and working email address.

If you are man born after Dec. 31, 1959, you must be registered with the Selective Service System or have a qualifying exemption.

If you have already submitted an online application, then you do not need to attend the recruiting event.
