📰 News we're reading

• SeaD Consulting tests 44 shrimp dishes at Crystal Coast eateries with genetic testing (wcti12.com) — Atlantic Beach diners are among those affected by new shrimp testing that found many Crystal Coast restaurants serving imported, farm-raised shrimp while describing dishes as U.S. wild-caught. Two Atlantic Beach spots, Bahia Beach House and Table 9 Seafood, were confirmed as accurately serving wild-caught shrimp in the sampled dishes, highlighting both good actors and broader transparency concerns for local seafood lovers.

• Mobile home destroyed in Morehead City fire, no injuries reported (witn.com) — Atlantic Beach firefighters helped respond to a Tuesday night blaze that destroyed a mobile home in Morehead City's Bay Meadows Mobile Home Park, where two residents escaped without injury. Multiple Carteret County departments and EMS agencies assisted, and the American Red Cross is now helping the displaced family while investigators work to determine the cause.
