• Additional sand for Buxton beach approved (thecoastlandtimes.com) — Avon is set to receive an extra 75,000 cubic yards of sand, bringing its total beach nourishment volume to 375,000 cubic yards backed by a $7.7 million financing package. State grants and Dare County’s Beach Nourishment Fund will help cover the broader $62.9 million in projects, while commissioners also approved the county’s 2026 audit contract.
