Wet weather doesn't dampen 17th annual Surf Art Expo (13newsnow.com) — Rainy skies didn’t keep crowds away from the 17th annual Surf Art Expo at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, where more than 90 artists are showcasing surf-inspired work. The only surf art show on the East Coast continues Sunday and Monday along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk between 3rd and 7th Streets, giving residents plenty of time to browse unique paintings, photos, jewelry, and sculptures.

Texas country-rock band Treaty Oak Revival to play Virginia Beach this year (pilotonline.com) — Virginia Beach music fans can catch Texas country-rock band Treaty Oak Revival at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater on Sept. 17, with tickets starting at $60.50. The high-streaming group brings its chart-topping “West Texas Degenerate” tour to town, joined by Wade Forster and KG and the Bad Habits for a 7 p.m. show.
   

4. 'We bank on those' says Norfolk bartender on Patriotic Festival leaving Scope Arena next year (wavy.com) — Businesses in downtown Norfolk say the Patriotic Festival at Scope Arena brings crucial Memorial Day weekend crowds, but the event is slated to return to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront in 2027. Local bar staff worry about losing that revenue boost and hope new festivals or revived events will fill the gap for Granby Street and nearby businesses.
