Retired PGV executive director to fill same role at northeastern Pennsylvania airport (witn.com) — Greenville readers may remember former Pitt-Greenville Airport director Bill Hopper, who has now been hired to lead the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport in Pennsylvania. After seven years at PGV and deep ties to the Greenville and Pitt County community, he says the move is bittersweet but offers a chance to be closer to family. 
2. Rising from the Shadows brings new mentorship program to ENC (witn.com) — A Greenville-based nonprofit is launching a free H.A.V.E.N. mentoring program this September for local middle and high school students, pairing them with volunteer adult mentors. The faith-based effort focuses on life skills and a biblical perspective on peer pressure, mental health, relationships, and self-esteem, and is currently recruiting both mentors and student participants.
3. Nepalese Americans in eastern Carolina react to deadly floods in homeland (witn.com) — Nepalese Americans living and working in Greenville are anxiously following deadly floods in Nepal and Tibet while confirming their own relatives are safe. Second arrest made in Lewiston-Woodville shooting; Robinson held without bond (wcti12.com) — Greenville police arrested 23-year-old Dre'Quan Demonte Robinson on Bertie County charges tied to an August shooting in the Lewiston-Woodville area that wounded four people. Investigators say video, interviews, and technology led to Robinson, who now faces multiple assault and firearm charges and is being held without bond while the case remains under investigation.
