• Ocracoke Access Alliance asks General Assembly to delay implementation deadline for new ferry tolls (ocracokeobserver.com) — New ferry tolls are coming to the Hatteras–Ocracoke route, and a local group is asking state lawmakers for a three-year delay so the system can be rolled out smoothly and fairly. The Ocracoke Access Alliance says the Ferry Division needs more time to build tolling infrastructure, set rates through a public process, and avoid major disruptions for island residents, businesses, and visitors. 
• North Carolina funds 16 public transportation projects (transportationtodaynews.com) — Ocracoke residents and visitors will benefit from new state funding that keeps the Ocracoke Express passenger ferry running between Hatteras and Silver Lake Harbor in the village. The grant is part of a broader package supporting 16 public transportation projects statewide, aimed at improving access to jobs, health care, and other essential services.
