Ocrafolk Festival 2026: 26 Years of Music, Storytelling, and Island Magic

Twenty-five years ago, a group of musicians, storytellers, and artists gathered under the live oaks on Ocracoke Island for a small, one-day festival—and an unforgettable tradition was born.

Now, in 2026, Ocrafolk Festival is celebrating its 26th anniversary, and it’s shaping up to be an incredible weekend! This year’s lineup features a powerhouse of performers, includingKathleen Parks Trio, storyteller Jasmin Cardenas, Rev. Roberts Jones, Jeff Little Trio, Sweet Megg, storyteller Donald Davis, Rhonda Robichaux, Foreign Landers, Martin Garrish & the Ocracoke Rockers, Dear MariBella & the Pigkickers, Lipbone Redding, Jenny & the Weazels, Molasses Creek, Asher Brinson, Aaron Caswell Trio, Brooke + Nick, Virago, Jef the Mime, Green Grass Cloggers, Ocracoke Student Ballet Folklorico, magician Eli Logan, Lanky Lou, Kevin Devaney Typewriter Poet, Philip Howard leading the traditional Ocracoke Square Dance, and more.

But Ocrafolk is more than just performances—it’s an immersive island experience. Accessible only by ferry, Ocracoke Island is a place where time slows down, and history whispers through the salty breeze. Visitors come for the pristine 13-mile undeveloped beach, the small harbor village, maritime lore of shipwrecks and pirates, and some of the best seafood and restaurants in the region. The festival blends seamlessly into this enchanting setting, creating a special bond between performers and audiences that keeps fans returning year after year.

In addition to performances across four stages, festivalgoers can:

  • Dance at the traditional Ocracoke Square Dance
  • Wander through the Artisan Village
  • Interact with roving performers
  • Make fish print T-shirts using the catch of the day from the local fish house
  • Attend workshops with musicians and storytellers
  • Enjoy kid-friendly activities and interactive experiences

And when it’s time to refuel, visitors can stroll to nearby restaurants or hop on a free village shuttle.

While lodging on the island books up fast for the weeks surrounding the festival, there’s no need to fret—early reservations are encouraged, and day-trippers can easily ferry down from Hatteras Island.

Join us in celebrating 26 years of music, storytelling, and island magic at the Ocrafolk Festival, June 5-7, 2026!
