Former director of sports medicine at NC State extradited to Wake County, facing over 30 sexual assault charges (cbs17.com) — A former NC State sports medicine director has been extradited back to Wake County to face more than 30 sexual assault-related charges tied to his time working with Wolfpack athletes in Raleigh. He appeared before a magistrate Thursday evening and is expected in court Friday afternoon, following earlier civil lawsuits that were dismissed on procedural grounds.

Concord Hospitality Adds Multiple Hotels to Its Portfolio (lodgingmagazine.com) — A new rooftop spot called The Wren is slated to open atop the Oberlin Hotel in Raleigh in early 2027, managed by Concord Hospitality. The company is expanding its portfolio with several boutique hotels and restaurants across the East Coast, but Raleigh residents can look forward specifically to this upcoming destination for food, drinks, and skyline views.

Raleigh native Desiree Reed's second half goal lifts Pitt past NC State, 1-0 (pittsburghsoccernow.com) — NC State women's soccer fell 1-0 at home after Raleigh native Desiree Reed scored the decisive second-half goal for Pitt, spoiling the Wolfpack's ACC outing. The tightly contested match in Raleigh featured two overturned VAR decisions before Reed finally broke the deadlock, giving Pitt its first conference win of the season.
