Brown Bros. Auction Scenes

This nearly 100-year-old auction house is hopping every Saturday morning, selling everything from antiques to one-of-a-kind items.

Each Saturday morning, a plain, white building on Rt. 413 in Buckingham fills up with people looking to get the perfect bargain – either an antique or that certain something that’ll look great in their foyer.

The building houses Brown Bros. Auction, a venerable selling house that was established nearly 100 years ago in Bucks County.

Both dealers and those just looking for an unusual piece of furniture, jewelry, dishware and the like find themselves poking through boxes, peering into display cases or walking through furniture galleries in hopes of making a purchase.

We took an early-morning trip to the Buckingham auction house (you have to get there early enough to find a parking spot and scope out what’s up for sale that day).

We resisted the strong temptation to bid on the 4-foot high, rust-colored, metal cross we saw – no place to put it, but it sure was cool.

Instead, we took some photos of what was selling that day. We’re sure that there were lots of bargain hunters satisfied at the end of it.

Brown Bros. Auction is at 2455 Route 413.

Doors open at 8 a.m. Saturdays, with auctions beginning at 9.
