2 Arrested For Suspected DUI, Retail Theft Reported In Newtown Twp.
Police also investigated the theft of used oil from a township restaurant. That investigation is ongoing, police said.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1:
November 27
- Police were dispatched to Acme Markets around 4:45 p.m. for the report of a retail theft that occurred on November 5. The total value lost was $687.76.

- During the Bucks County DUI Task Force’s roving DUI detail along Street Road in Bensalem during the Thanksgiving holiday, an officer from Newtown Township conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a DUI arrest. Suspected narcotics were also discovered and seized as evidence.
November 30
- At approximately 12 p.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township restaurant for the theft of used oil. The investigation is ongoing.

- At approximately 2:50 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Chevrolet Impala for committing a vehicle code violation at North Drive and Durham Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected an odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver refused to submit blood for chemical testing. Charges are pending.
- At approximately 7:30 a.m. police were dispatched to Swamp Road and Hickory Lane for the report of a one-vehicle traffic accident. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
