Alert Resident Leads To Arrest Of Suspicious Person In Upper Makefield

Police were called to Crimson Leaf Drive after a Ring camera recorded images of two men looking in the home's windows with flashlights.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Upper Makefield Police arrested a suspicious person Tuesday night in connection with an incident on Crimson Drive caught on Ring camera.

At about 8:50 p.m., police were called to Crimson Leaf Drive after a homeowner reported two subjects in the backyard looking in windows with flashlights and one of them wearing a ski mask. The homeowner, who was not at home at the time, saw the images via their Ring camera and called 911.

Upon arrival, officers checked the neighborhood and the residence. The residence was found to be secure and the two subjects no longer on the scene.

In checking the neighborhood, a suspicious vehicle was located and was stopped by police. A further investigation led to the arrest of a subject for various offenses related to the incident.

During the initial response, police from Lower Makefield and Newtown Township and a police K9 assisted with the search. According to police, the homeowner shared the video and still pictures with the officers on the scene, which aided police in their search. However, the search did not result in the capture of the two suspects.

As officers were processing the subject at the station and securing the vehicle in the evidence garage for an eventual search warrant, Bucks County Radio informed police that the front door of a home on Greenbriar Circle was smashed.

Upper Makefield Police, as well as officers from Lower Makefield and Newtown Township and the police K9, responded to the home. Upon arrival, the house was searched and no one was found on the scene. Another search of the surrounding area was conducted without success. The scene was subsequently processed by detectives, police said.

"This investigation is ongoing and we need your assistance," police said. "We are requesting that if you live in the Weatherfield development to check your camera systems for any suspicious vehicles or persons."

The vehicle involved was a white BMW sedan. However, there may have been another vehicle involved. If your video surveillance systems captured anything suspicious, call police at 215-968-3020.
