Arrests Made In Newtown Township For Burglary, DUI, And Assault
Reports: Charges are also pending against an individual for assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 12 and April 17:
April 12
- At approximately 7:47 p.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a Protection from Abuse violation and a burglary. One individual was arrested.

- At approximately 5:22 a.m. police were dispatched to the area of Newtown-Yardley Road and Penns Trail for a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
April 15
- At approximately 9:59 p.m. police met with a Newtown Township resident for the report of an assault. As a result of the investigation, charges are pending for simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
April 17

- The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail at Washington Avenue and Elm Avenue in Newtown Borough. The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield. During the detail, 10 trucks were stopped and inspected. No trucks were placed out of service, and one citation and five warnings were issued for violations that were found.
- At approximately 5:26 p.m. police met with an individual for the report of an armed subject. As a result of the investigation, one individual was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon, simple assault, and terroristic threats.
