At Buck County Rally, Dr. Oz Paints Opponent As Far Left Radical

"You don't get a starker difference in candidates," said Dr. Oz, who painted Fetterman as a buddy of far left Senator Bernie Sanders.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, brought his campaign to the Sports Training Center in Newtown on Saturday.

Oz, who is in a race with Pennsylvania’s Lt. Governor John Fetterman for the senate seat now held by Republican Pat Toomey, rallied the crowd.

Helping to warm up the gathering for Dr. Oz was the outspoken, no holds barred senator from Louisiana, John Kennedy, who blasted President Biden and the Democrats over inflation, spending and its open border and energy policies.

“The Biden Administration sucks,” he said. “He has mismanaged COVID. He has mismanaged the border. He has mismanaged crime. He has mismanaged the economy. He has mismanaged Afghanistan. He has mismanaged inflation. I don’t like to brag about the expensive places I’ve been, but now it’s the grocery store,” he said. “America deserves better and you’re going to get it with Dr. Oz.”

He also took a shot at the woke crowd, pointing to the 400,000 souls buried in Arlington National Cemetery. “Those are 400,000 reasons why you should stand up for the National Anthem,” he said to the roar of the crowd.

“Dr. Oz and I believe that America’s future can be better. Dr. Oz and I believe that we are only as good as our dreams. And Dr. Oz and I understand that the water in Washington, D.C. is not going to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek. Help me do that. Help Dr. Oz do that.”

With the absentee ballot deadline looming in two weeks, Dr. Oz announced that there is still no date set for a debate with his opponent, Lt. Governor John Fetterman.

“Twenty percent of voters are going to request ballots and probably use them. We don’t want folks voting until they hear John Fetterman defend his far left radical ideas,” said Oz.

Fetterman was also in the Philadelphia suburbs over the weekend campaigning at an abortion rights rally in neighboring Montgomery County over the weekend.

In response to Dr. Oz’s call for a debate, the Fetterman campaign issued a statement that says, “We’re absolutely going to debate Dr. Oz and it was always our intent to do that. It has simply only ever been about addressing some of the lingering issues from the stroke - the auditory processing - and we’re going to be able to work that out.”

Dr. Oz’s campaign called the Fetterman statement “another laughable attempt to distract from the fact that John Fetterman has no real plans to debate.”

“You don’t get a starker difference in candidates,” said Dr. Oz, who painted Fetterman as a buddy of far left Senator Bernie Sanders at his rally in Newtown. The two, he said, have endorsed each other and together call themselves “the most progressive candidates in America.”

Oz said Fetterman supports the “reckless spending” going on in Washington. “And in fact, he criticized Joe Biden for not going far enough.

“The evidence is there of how much money they are spending. We have a 40 year high of inflation ripping away your savings, especially having an impact on our seniors,” he said.

“And what’s the deal with fracking,” asked Oz. “And why does Fetterman call fracking a stain on Pennsylvania? Why did he sign documents calling for a moratorium on fracking? Why does he want to regulate it out of existence?

“When you do that you increase energy prices. Those are the facts. I’m for an all-of-the-above solution,” he said of energy. “Every source that’s out there we ought to use because we need energy to power industry. We can’t afford to have manufacturing in Pennsylvania if we don’t have
better prices.”

Dr. Oz, who is endorsed by the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police, also touched on crime, saying Fetterman favors releasing one third of all prisoners being held in Pennsylvania. “We have him on video saying it in his own words,” said Oz. “He says it wouldn’t make a difference. I don’t know if that’s true,” said Oz.

Oz said he also believes in border security. And he supports a border with a barrier – whether that is a physical wall or one patrolled by technological advances.

Dr. Oz also spoke to education saying he favors choice. “John Fetterman, if we were debating, he’d say no, we can’t do that because the teachers unions are funding him. But he’s sending his own kids to private school. So the hypocrisy here is pretty thick.”

Turning to his favorite subject - healthcare - Dr. Oz said Fetterman and Bernie "will abolish private healthcare insurance. He will destroy medicine as we know it. You see how the government does with its other projects. I’m not handing out healthcare over to them,” he said to a roar from the crowd.

Dr. Oz said one needs only to look to the town of Braddock where Fetterman served as mayor. “You don’t see a success story. You see a town that’s shrinking, losing business, losing jobs. Not much going on that makes you confident. Under their new leadership crime has dropped 60 percent.
Under our leadership in Pennsylvania crime has gone up 60 percent. Do you see a common theme here? We have to hold people accountable for what they have done.”

In closing our his remarks, Dr. Oz encouraged those in attendance to be optimistic and to share what they have heard at the rally. “All the things I have pointed out we can make better if we have strong leadership,” he said.

“I believe in the American dream because it’s alive and it’s well,” he said. “I believe that we can get to a budget that works without wasting our children money. I believe that we can have affordable energy by making sure we use all of the above that already exist. I believe in safer streets. I believe in a closed border and legal immigration - the way my father came in. I believe we can have affordable healthcare for all. And most importantly I believe in all of you,” he said.
