"As citizens, we expect our legislators and the President to follow the science of climate change, not deny it to make money for the 1%."

Dear Editor:
It is with great disappointment and anger that we write against the President’s unilateral move to take the USA out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Most nations have signed on, and as the second largest carbon producer, the USA needs to make carbon reductions, not flaunt them as bad for business.

China and Germany are in partnership on renewables such as solar, wind, and other clean energies. Clean renewable energy is good for business and grows our economy. India will produce only electric cars in 2 decades and solar creates double the number of jobs as coal there and in Pennsylvania. As citizens, we expect our legislators and the President to follow the science of climate change, not deny it to make money for the 1%.
Coastal residents and visitors experience climate change effects on the Jersey Shore and throughout the USA; refusing renewable energy costs taxpayers the longer we wait with rising sea levels. Help us fight for climate justice and against public policy harming people and planet for corporate profits. On behalf of Bucks County Environmental Action,
