NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Newtown Borough Police Department reported a busy month of April, answering 184 calls for service including nine traffic accidents.

That number of traffic accidents "was a high number for us," reported Chief James Sabath. "A few of those were hit and runs, which we had to track down - people who left the scene of an accident leaving other people behind."

The department also reported two arrests for public drunkenness - a 36-year-old man from Langhorne was arrested. "He needed to be transported to St. Mary Medical Center based on the level of his intoxication. We also arrested a 61-year-old man from Holland on South State Street."
