DUI Arrest, Truck Safety Detail: Newtown Township Police Report

Police also conducted a truck enforcement safety detail in Wrightstown Township.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — DUI charges are pending against a driver who was stopped by police at 1:29 a.m. on February 4 for a vehicle code violation in the area of Woodbourne Road and White Swan Way.

Upon speaking with the driver, police said the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Charges are pending blood evidence results.

Truck Safety Detail

On February 7, the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial
vehicle safety detail at Durham Road and Fox Hill Drive in Wrightstown Township.

The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield Township.

During the detail, nine trucks were stopped and inspected. One truck was placed out of service and six citations and six warnings were issued for violations that were found.
