Egg Hunt For The Blind And Visually Impaired Taking Place In Bucks
The Montgomery County Bomb Squad will be bringing its beeping eggs to a community egg hunt this weekend in Bucks County.

NEWTOWN, PA — An egg hunt for the blind and visually impaired is returning to this year’s lineup of Easter activities in Bucks County.
The Newtown Rotary Club is again partnering with the Montgomery County Bomb Squad and the Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired to bring the unique experience to this year’s Newtown Community Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28.
The bomb squad will again bring its beeping eggs to the event and scatter them across a portion of the field. Participants will then follow the beeping sounds to find the eggs.

“This is an opportunity for people who couldn’t normally participate in an event like this to have a good time and enjoy Easter,” said egg hunt organizer Paul Salvatore. “The fact that the bomb squad is willing to travel here and do this is great. It shows they want to give back to the community.”
Salvatore said anyone in the county who is blind or visually impaired is invited to participate in the hunt free of charge.

“We’re not limited to Newtown. This is for anyone who is blind or visually impaired - children or adults,” said Salvatore. “The eggs have beepers inside so participants can find them. The whole idea is they get to join the fun and participate in the hunt,” he said.

The hunt is part of the Rotary Club’s annual community egg hunt taking place at the Goodnoe Elementary School on Saturday, March 28. The hunt is free and open to the public.
The blind and visually impaired hunt is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. The community egg hunt will follow promptly at 11 a.m. and will progress through the age group categories from youngest to oldest.
This year’s age group categories are 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8-9, 10-11-12, 13-17, 18 and over (parents and adults), and grandparents.
Before the start of the hunt, the Easter Bunny will be there making the rounds. The egg hunt is free and open to the public.
The rain date is Sunday, March 29, at 2 p.m. If a third rain date is needed, the hunt will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4.
