Friends Come To The Rescue After Story Stroll Vandalized At Tyler Park
Members of the Friends of Tyler State Park rebuilt the story boxes and reinstalled them over the weekend in the park's children's area.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A Story Stroll that was vandalized earlier this month at Tyler State Park has been restored thanks to the Friends of Tyler State Park.
In a March 12 Facebook post, the Southampton Free Library reported that five of its story-stroll boxes in the children’s area of the park had been ripped from their posts.
“We found one, but believe the others were tossed in the creek. We are saddened and outraged,” the library posted.

The library posted special thanks to Al G., a board member of the Friends of Tyler and the head of the Community Service - Workday Committee, who personally rebuilt the boxes.
On Saturday, the library posted that “two very helpful Friends of Tyler State Park” reinstalled the stroll with a new story.
“Come read ‘Where in the Wild’ and see if you can find the hidden animals,” the library posted.
The library has three story strolls, including Tyler State Park, Tamanend Park, and the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust.
Story strolls are posted along outdoor paths and feature a children’s book broken down by page attached to wooden stakes. Stories are changed monthly to keep content fresh, depending on weather conditions.
