• College Names Director Of New Bucks Co. Municipal Police Academy (patch.com) — Bucks County Community College is launching a new municipal police academy at its Newtown campus, with veteran law enforcement educator Chris Willard tapped as director. The academy will offer Pennsylvania's required Act 120 basic training, with applications opening in spring and the first class planned for August 2027, potentially drawing future officers and activity to the Newtown area.
   

• Career Firefighter Joins The Ranks At Newtown Fire Rescue (patch.com) — Newtown Township residents have a new full-time firefighter/EMT joining Newtown Fire Rescue, helping the department maintain 12-hour-a-day coverage for both the township and borough. Anthony Vaccaro, recently sworn in by District Judge Michael Petrucci, brings experience from Myrtle Beach and Pennsylvania volunteer service, boosting the career firefighting ranks to 13 plus two chiefs.
   

• Newtown Fire, Garden of Reflection Among 51 Bucks County Grant Winners (bucksco.today) — Newtown residents will see a big boost to local fire protection, as the Newtown Fire Association is receiving $940,000 toward a new ladder truck through Pennsylvania's Local Share Account grants. The same program is sending millions more across Bucks County for emergency vehicles, infrastructure upgrades, school programs, and the Garden of Reflection memorial in Lower Makefield.
