Police Investigate Retail Thefts, Make DUI Arrest In Newtown Twp.
The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Feb. 14 and 20.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests from Feb. 14 to Feb. 20:
February 14
- At 5 p.m. a Wrightstown Township resident stopped by police headquarters to report fraudulent purchases on her debit card. The total value of loss was $1,600. A report was made to document the incident.
February 17

- At 2:30 p.m. police responded to McCaffrey’s Market on South Eagle Road for the report of a retail theft. The total value of loss was $83. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
- At approximately 9:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Volkswagen SUV for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Linden and German avenues. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
February 19
- At approximately 4:30 p.m. police were dispatched to Acme Markets on West Road for the report of a retail theft. The total value of the loss was $2,074. The investigation is ongoing.
- At approximately 7:45 p.m. police were dispatched to Acme Markets on West Road for the report of a retail theft. The total value of the loss was $465. The investigation is ongoing.

- At approximately 3:15 p.m. police were dispatched to Bucks Digital Printing on Walker Lane for the report of a scam involving parcels of mail that were fraudulently sent out under the company’s name. The investigation is ongoing.
