Upper Makefield Death Ruled A Homicide: Police

Breaking: Authorities have confirmed that a River Road man found dead Tuesday was a victim of homicide.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Authorities have confirmed that a death reported Tuesday in Upper Makefield was a homicide. A 64-year-old man has been identified as the victim.

Michael D. McNew, 64, who lived on the 1000 block of River Road, was found dead at his home Tuesday evening around 6 p.m. after officers were called there for assistance with an unresponsive person.

An autopsy done Wednesday concluded McNew's death was a homicide. The specific cause of death is not being released by authorities at this time.

No suspects have been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Police confirmed a dive team searched the Delaware River in connection with the investigation but it was not clear what exactly they were looking for.
