Gunfire Erupts Again In Downtown Pittsburgh
Shots were fired in Downtown Pittsburgh early Monday, continuing a spate of gunfire that has been occurring for several months.
PITTSBURGH, PA — In what has become a disturbing htrend, shots again were fired early Monday in Downtown Pittsburgh.
City public safety officials said that shortly after 1 a.m., police were called to Sixth Avenue and Smithfield Street after reports that multiple gunshots were fired.
No injuries occurred. But there were multiple areas of property damage that included a parked vehicle and a traffic control box.

A police car also was damaged, but is not believed to have been targeted.
The gunfire occurred just days after a fatal Downtown mid-afternoon shooting at Liberty Avenue and Seventh Street. Erique Collington, 18, of the Hill District is in the Allegheny County Jail after being charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy, carrying a firearm without a license and other charges.

In December, a man died after being shot with a BB gun Downtown.
In November, a woman was shot at the intersection of Smithfield Street and Fourth Avenue. She was wounded during an altercation between two other people.
