Old Clark Crush Candy Bar To Be Revived (patch.com) — Candy lovers in Pittsburgh can look forward to the return of a forgotten Clark bar spinoff, as Boyer Candy Company revives the historic Clark Crush using an original mold and formula. The Clark brand, which began in Pittsburgh in 1886 and remains popular locally, will now offer this crunchy peanut butter and chocolate variation through select retailers and direct sales.
   

2. Health Department Shuts Down Pittsburgh Coffee Shop (patch.com) — Pittsburgh readers should know that the Allegheny County Health Department has shut down Azal, a newly opened coffee shop on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill, for operating without permits and multiple food safety violations. Inspectors cited issues ranging from missing temperature controls and food safety certification to improper storage of toxic items and unapproved plumbing work, and say a required closure placard was not posted.
   

3. AAA: Gas Prices Falling in Pennsylvania (beavercountyradio.com) — Drivers in Pittsburgh are paying about $4.76 per gallon for regular gas this week, as Western Pennsylvania's average dips slightly to $4.70. AAA says prices remain historically high for late September, with Beaver County and nearby communities also seeing elevated costs at the pump despite the usual autumn slowdown in demand.

Elijah Hemingway's criminal history: Conditions revealed of non-monetary bail after burglary charge (wtae.com) — Pittsburgh-area readers are learning more about how nonmonetary bail was set for Elijah Hemingway after a February burglary in the city, before he was later charged in a fatal stabbing and separate rape case. Allegheny County's district attorney explains what judges see at arraignments and says his office might have appealed the earlier bail if fully aware of Hemingway's history.
   

5. Allegheny County highlights resources available to parents during community baby shower event (wpxi.com) — Allegheny County officials just hosted a community baby shower in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood to connect local parents with free baby supplies, food assistance, and family support programs. If you're raising young children in or around Pittsburgh, you can tap into services like Hello Baby, family centers, diaper banks, and more, with 211 as an easy starting point for information.
