WARMINSTER, PA — A Warminster woman has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a fatal DUI crash that killed her son last April.

Kelly Colbridge, 37, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle while DUI and related charges filed in connection with the April 7 crash on Street Road that killed her 8-year-old son.

Colbridge's bail was revoked, and her sentencing is forthcoming, court documents show.

Bucks County District Attorney spokesman James O'Malley said sentencing was deferred for a pre-sentence investigation, which typically takes about 90 days.

Authorities say Colbridge was driving with a BAC at more than twice the legal limit on April 7 when she lost control of her Dodge Avenger, crashing head-on into another car. Her son, who was riding in the back seat at the time, later died from head and neck injuries sustained in the crash.

According to police, the pair was driving home from a party at Bowlero, where Colbridge told investigators she had a "few drinks." Colbridge told investigators the last thing she remembers is talking on the phone in a hands-free mode. The next thing she recalls, according to an affidavit of probable cause, is being pulled from the wreckage.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. along the 300 block of Street Road, in the area of Davisville Church.

The boy, identified as Daniel Klaus, was found unconscious at the scene. He was flown to CHOP following the crash and succumbed to his injuries on April 10.
