Comforts from a Butterfly and God

A TV show reminds me of the awesome control and power that God has over us and the things around us.

I was watching the newest episode of Criminal Minds last night. I have always been fascinated with crimes and how they are solved, and I find this show and its characters particularly interesting.
Last night was about a young girl that was abducted and eventually killed. The girl loved butterflies and the theme was carried in several scenes. The BAU finds the person after he abducts the mom and she discovers the little girl's corpse.
At the end of the show, they are at the graveside where she gets a proper burial. The mother holds up a jar containing small butterflies and opens the top and releases them. One of the butterflies stays behind after the rest have flown away and lands on the top of the rim at the mouth of the jar. It sits there for a moment, as if to comfort and reassure the mom that all is well, then it flies away.
At first I thought to myself, "ok, that would just be coincidence."
Then it hit me. God can control any animal that he wants to and use it to help us. He brought all of the animals to the ark in Genesis before the flood was about to happen. That had to be His hand guiding them. I just don't see a continent of animals making their way to a single piece of land, always in pairs, male and female.
So the next time you think God has used something unusual to speak to and/or comfort you, lift your eyes to the heavens and say a thank you.
God is still here, still cares and He is right on time!
