Green Wave Pride Shining Bright

Rowdy Band & Menacing Football team storm West-Oak High School!

As a band parent, I love hearing the marching band play at the football games. Tonight the Green Wave marching band really out did themselves! After two weeks of band camp practicing their competition drills and music the band was ready to cut loose with some fun rowdy tunes tonight. Even thought they had not spent much time practicing the "rowdy" songs they were almost note-perfect as they encouraged the football team and enthused the Easley fans.

I am not sure I have ever heard the Easley band play their fight song as often as they played it tonight? You might ask "Why?"

The answer to the "why" would be very simple. Coach Smith and the team brought their A-game to Westminster tonight! The mighty Green Wave rolled over the West-Oak Warriors by a score of 70-0. (No, that most certainly is NOT a typo!)

Now before anyone wants to start criticizing my coach (Coach Smith) let me point out that many, many different players racked up minutes of playing time tonight. Had Coach Smith choose to keep all the starters in for the entire game he could have come very close to approaching the 100 point mark. Kudos to Coach Smith for not call off the dogs tonight! Kudos to Coach Smith for letting so many different dogs get in on the fight! (No disrespect intended to the talented young men on the football team with the "dog" analogy there!)

Initial indications are that last year's successful football season was no fluke, but the rebirth of a tradition excellence! Congratulation to Coach Smith and his men! Easley Band: Rock on!
