N.Y. Times: Texas A&M Leaving Big 12 for SEC
Today's report says the school president sent a letter to Big 12 officials on Monday.

With the 2011 college football season just days away, major news may be occuring that will shake up the field from 2012 forward.
The New York Times is reporting today that Texas A&M officials have told the Big 12 that they will leave the conference after this season. was in negotiations with the Southeastern Conference.
The move would get Texas A&M out from the shadows of Texas, which just signed its own TV deal. It would open up the large Texas media market, meanwhile, for the SEC.

The big question remaining would be if the SEC presidents are in approval, and how the SEC will operate in 2012 with 13 teams. Unless there is a 14th team on the horizon. Previous names mentioned included Virginia Tech, Clemson and Florida State.
