• Over $618K recovered in back wages for Tropical Grille workers denied full pay (foxcarolina.com) — Workers at the Simpsonville Tropical Grille are among 779 employees statewide receiving part of $618,888 in recovered back wages after a federal investigation into wage and child labor violations. The U.S. Department of Labor found illegal tip pooling, overtime issues, and underage employees working too long, and also fined the restaurant group $100,000 while requiring new training and compliance materials.
