NASHVILLE, TN — It's going to be hot, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville, and the NWS advises you thus. A slight cool off comes Sunday as showers push through with highs early in the week finally dropping below 90. Friday: Mostly sunny and hot, high of 96 with a heat index as high as 106. Mostly clear overnight, low of 77.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and storms after 8 a.m., otherwise mostly sunny, high of 96. A 30 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m., then partly cloudy after sundown, low of 76.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers after 8 a.m., otherwise partly sunny and a bit cooler, high of 92. A 40 percent chance of showers and storms in the evening, otherwise mostly cloudy, low of 74.
