Oklahoma Police Officer Dies After Being Shot During Foot Pursuit
Police announced Monday morning that the 22-year-old officer had died after he was shot late Sunday night.

TECUMSEH, OK — A 22-year-old Oklahoma police officer has died from his injuries after he was shot late Sunday night while chasing a suspect who fled following a traffic stop in Tecumseh.
According to police, the officer was on a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. when the suspect took off on foot. A foot pursuit ensued when the officer deployed a Taser but with no affect. Police say the suspect then shot at the officer and the officer returned fire.
Both the officer and the suspect were taken to the hospital. The officer, identified in local media outlets as Justin Terney, underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition. However, on Monday morning, authorities announced that Terney succumbed to his injuries and died, according to a report in KFOR.

The suspect's condition is unknown at this time.
