Winter Olympics 2018: TV Schedule, Live Stream

The 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics officially open Friday, Feb. 9, but some coverage begins Thursday. Here's how to watch.

NBC begins its primetime coverage of the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics in South Korea Thursday with figure skating at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The opening ceremonies for the winter games aren’t until Friday, but qualifying rounds begin earlier.

From Thursday through closing ceremonies on Sunday, Feb. 25, NBC will broadcast marquee events during primetime. Keep in mind that Pyeongchang is 14 hours ahead of the Eastern time zone in the United States, so be sure to set your spoiler alerts if you want to wait until the broadcasts to learn the outcome.

Or, if you want to watch the competition live overnight, NBC will offer live streaming. The network offers several ways to watch the Olympic Games.

In all, NBC will offer 176 hours of live coverage; NBCSN will present 369 hours of coverage, including live primetime and 10 days of 24-hour coverage from Feb. 18-25, including mixed doubles curling at 11 p.m.; CNBC will present 46 hours of coverage; and USA Network will present 40 hours of ice hockey and curling coverage, mostly between 7-9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The Games will be broadcast on NBC, NBCSN and across the network of NBC Universal. Live streams of every Olympic event will be available, as will on-demand services and highlight videos. 5 a.m., short-track speedskating — men’s 1,500 meters
7:10 a.m.: Women’s hockey, Switzerland vs. Korea
8 p.m.: Snowboarding — men’s slopestyle final
9 p.m.: Alpine skiing — men’s downhill

Sunday, Feb. 11
4:50 a.m.: Luge — men’s final uns
8 p.m.: Snowboarding — women’s slopestyle
8:15 p.m.: Alpine skiing — women’s giant slalom

Monday, Feb. 12
5:30 a.m.: Moguls — men’s
