REvil, Group Behind Ransomware Attacks, Disappears From Internet
All websites for the Russian-linked group responsible for a recent attack on the world's largest meatpacking company were down Tuesday.

REvil, the Russian-linked hacking group that recently targeted meat supplier JBS Foods and major IT software vendor Kaseya in massive ransomware attacks, has vanished from the internet, according to cybersecurity experts tracking the group.
While it's unknown why the group's online footprint, including its blog and payment-processing infrastructure, has disappeared, it comes just days after President Joe Biden told Russian President Vladimir Putin on a call that he needed to rein in attacks from Russia-based groups. He also promised consequences should the recent spate of cyberattacks continue.
REvil is responsible for hacked more than 360 U.S. targets in 2021 alone. The group typically will demands payment in exchange for unlocking computer systems and a promise to not leak sensitive files.
