Texas Team Going To Bat At Little League World Series

Scheduled to play Friday night, the McAllister Park All-Stars of San Antonio make third World Series appearance in just seven years.

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- The eyes of Texas will be upon the one sole participant in this year's Little League World Series -- the San Antonio-based team, the McAllister Park All-Stars ball club, scheduled to play Friday.

It's the third Little League World Series appearance in seven years for the North Side league team. The little tykes are scheduled to play at 8 p.m. Aug. 19, against an as-yet undetermined team from the Great Lakes. The game being played at Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport, Pa. will be broadcast Friday night on ESPN,

The team departed five days ago for Pennsylvania after demolishing Eastdale, New Mexico 13-3 last Wednesday in the Southwest Regional title game, as the San Antonio Express-News reported. The team came alive in the forth inning when they scored six runs in the rout, the newspaper noted.

A GoFundMepage was set up for the boys to help defray costs of the trip. At last check, $9,215 of a $20,000 goal had been raised.

The McAllister Park All-Starsroster of players (remember their names now before they eventually make it to the big show) includes: Esteban Guillory, Brody Ticer, Matthew Flores-King, Dominic Tellis, Ben Colton, Britton Moore, Gibson Maldonado, Tim Arguello, Caden Wallis, Blake Compton, LJ Brown, Jacob Coolbaugh, Rilan Quinones and Orion Medina. Team manager is Mike Tellis and coaches are Mike Wallis and Phil Medina.
