3 San Antonio Police Officers Arrested For Drunk Driving Within Hours Of Each Other
One of the officers had three children in the car when she rear-ended another car, elevating her charge to state felony status.

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Two San Antonio veteran police officers and a sheriff's deputy were arrested for drunk driving within hours of each other Thursday night and Friday morning, according to local media reports. Gena Rodriguez, an 11-year veteran assigned to West Patrol, and Harold Thomaston, a 20-year veteran assigned to Central Patrol, were arrested within a four-hour span, the San Antonio Express-News and other media outlets reported.
While the circumstances shared the factor of alcohol consumption, the punishments differed given that Rodriguez had a child in her car at the time, reports indicate. Rodriguez faces a charge of drunken driving with a child under the age of 15 in the car, a state felony. She remained at the Bexar County Jail on an $8,000 bond. Thomaston faces a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving and remains in the Bexar County Jail on a $1,200 bond.
Police said Rodriguez rear-ended another vehicle at around 10:16 p.m. Thursday night near Loop 1604 and Culebra Road. Three children were in her car at the time of the accident, police added. At around 1:30 a.m. the following day, Thomaston was stopped near Wurzbach Road and Fernglen Drive after being seen driving erratically and running a red stop light, reports indicate.
