10 VA Bed And Breakfasts Named Among Best In America, New Ranking Says

VIRGINIA — A new report has named 10 bed and breakfasts in Virginia among the best in the nation.

U.S. News & World Report published its rankings Tuesday of this year’s “best” bed & breakfasts rankings. The report looked at more than 250 bed-and-breakfasts, inns and small hotels across the 17 cities and small towns.

The rankings were based on U.S. News user research, which showed which accommodations would be of particular interest to travelers.

Here are the bed-and-breakfasts that made the list from Virginia (all are in Charlottesville):

U.S. News said the top bed-and-breakfasts tended to offer personalized touches, such as homemade breakfasts and customized tours. They also offer comfortable rooms, excellent service, and often have unique amenities such as libraries with borrowable books, a cozy fireplace, and even afternoon tea or evening wine.

“B&Bs typically offer a unique atmosphere, a complimentary breakfast and a cultural experience authentic to their given location,” said Zach Watson, senior travel editor at U.S. News. “The 2024 Best Bed & Breakfasts rankings offer travelers options for staying at a top-rated property, with all the charm and personal touches of an intimate stay.”

Bed-and-breakfast rankings were based on star ratings and both expert and guest sentiment gathered via awards from distinguished travel publications and TripAdvisor user scores.
