5 VA, DC Restaurants Rank Best In Nation On Yelp's Annual List: Here's Where

VIRGINIA — Yelp has released its list of top restaurants across the country for the year, and five Virginia and Washington, D.C. restaurants made the cut.

The list — “Yelp’s Top 100 US Restaurants 2026," released on Wednesday — features seafood, comfort food and more from the area.

“We’ve rounded up the latest drool-worthy, Yelper-loved places to eat — just in time for your 2026 restaurant bucket list,” Yelp said. “Across the US, chefs are plating up memorable, can’t-miss meals at fine-dining rooms, food halls, counter-order favorites, cozy cafes, and wallet-friendly gems that deliver big flavor without the big bill.”

To create the list, Yelp said it “identified businesses in the restaurant category, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews.”

The highest-ranked restaurant in the area is the District's Georgetown Seafood at No. 56, a 4.7-rated casual spot serving up lobster rolls, crab cakes and clam chowder.

At No. 68 is Chay Restaurant in Falls Church, which is rated 4.7 and serves Vietnamese and vegetarian dishes. Menu offerings include lemongrass fried tofu and mango sticky rice.

Umai Nori in Washington, D.C. is No. 74. The sushi bar has a 4.6 rating and serves a range of nigiri, sashimi and rolls.

At No. 78 is Fountain Grill in Ashburn, with a rating of 4.8. Comfort food awaits at this casual spot, where popular options include blackened chicken alfredo, multiple burgers and banana cake.

The No. 100 spot goes to Matt and Tony's All Day Kitchen Bar in Alexandria, which is rated 4.5 and serves up American fare from brunch to cocktail hour, including cornflake-crusted French toast and country-fried chicken.
