Ex-Virginia Tech Student To Go On Trial In 13-Year-Old's Killing

David Eisenhauer, of Columbia, Maryland​, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Nicole Lovell and is slated for trial on Monday.

BLACKSBURG, VA — A murder trial is poised to begin for David Eisenhauer, the former Virginia Tech student accused of stabbing a 13-year-old Blacksburg middle schooler to death.

Nicole Lovell climbed out her bedroom window one night in January 2016 to meet Eisenhauer, then 18 and a freshman engineering student, prosecutors said. Her body was found three days later just over the state line in North Carolina.

Eisenhauer, 20, of Columbia, Maryland, is charged with first-degree murder and is slated to go on trial Monday in Montgomery County Circuit Court in Christiansburg.

Eisenhauer's friend, Natalie Keepers, also a former Virginia Tech student, is charged as an accessory in Lovell's death. Her trial is scheduled for September.
