Man Wins $5 Million Top Prize In Virginia Lottery Game
Dennis Rector of King George purchased the winning scratch ticket at Sheetz.

KING GEORGE, VA — When Dennis Rector realized he won $5 million in a Virginia Lottery game, he did what any husband would likely do: he called his wife. His wife, however, offered him a bit of advice.
"She said to get home safely," Rector told lottery officials.
Rector of King George won the top prize in the $5,000,000 Ultimate game after purchasing a ticket at Sheetz, located at 8206 Kings Highway in King George. The $5,000,000 Ultimate game is one of dozens of Virginia Lottery scratch tickets available in the state.

According to lottery officials, Rector could take the full $5 million prize in annual payments over 30 years or opt for a one-time cash option of $3,201,024 before taxes. Rector selected the cash option.
Sheetz also receives a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Rector said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and save for retirement.
