VA Cities With The Most Rapidly Growing Home Prices: Report
A new report analyzes Virginia's fluctuating real estate market. Here's where prices are growing the fastest.
VIRGINIA — Homeowners in Virginia have been nervous about the value of their homes since interest rates began climbing last year, pricing some would-be buyers out of the market.
But dozens of cities saw soaring price increases, with one city's home values soaring more than a quarter of a million dollars in one year.
A new report compiled by media organization Stacker uses Zillow data to find out how the state's real estate demographics have fluctuated over the past year.

Data was available for 563 cities and towns in Virginia. Home values in the top city on the list grew by $137,764 over the last 12 months.
Many of the Virginia cities with the fastest growing prices are in the DC-Arlington-Alexandria area, or in the Richmond region.

- Waterford - Typical home value: $1,067,972; 1-year price change: +$80,767 (+8.2%)
- Hume - Typical home value: $758,899; 1-year price change: +$80,444 (+11.9%)
- Castleton - Typical home value: $535,726; 1-year price change: +$77,248 (+16.8%)
- The Plains - Typical home value: $842,191; 1-year price change: +$73,620 (+9.6%)
- Union Hall - Typical home value: $691,606; 1-year price change: +$69,008 (+11.1%)
- Flint Hill - Typical home value: $541,026; 1-year price change: +$68,907 (+14.6%)
- Petersburg - Typical home value: $258,094; 1-year price change: +$67,890 (+35.7%)
