Virginia Cop Pulls Over Driver; A Kangaroo Was Inside The Vehicle
"To quote Officer Bennett, 'You just never know what could "jump" off in police work...'" the police department tweeted.

MARTINSVILLE, VA — A police officer in southern Virginia could never have guessed what he'd find when pulled over his last driver for the day: a kangaroo.
Martinsville police Officer Chase Bennett pulled over driver Laura Steere on Tuesday, WDBJ-TV reported.
"She said, 'are you checking on me?'" Bennett told the station. "I said yeah, just checking to make sure everything's OK."

"And I said thank you so much for checking on me," said Steere, "but we're fine. I was just checking my kangaroo!"
Confused, Bennett asked her if it was a real kangaroo. Sure enough, it was. Steere was headed to her home at Infinity Acres Ranch, a nonprofit educational ranch, with various animals, the station reported.

Bennett snapped a photo with "Didgeridoo the Roo" and the department tweeted it out with the caption: "To quote Officer Bennett, 'You just never know what could "jump" off in police work...'"
"Who's gonna say no to seeing a kangaroo?" he asked the station.
