• Man Accused Of Striking Arlington Police Officer After Entering Business Where He Was Banned (patch.com) — Arlington police say a 65-year-old man banned from a North Courthouse Road business returned Monday evening, ignored officers' commands and struck an officer before being arrested. He now faces a felony assault on law enforcement charge, along with trespassing and public intoxication, and remains in custody ahead of a bond hearing in Arlington General District Court.
   

• Arlington families to get free monthly books through Dolly Parton program (wjla.com) — Arlington County families with children from birth to age 5 will soon be able to enroll in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and receive a free book mailed to their home every month. Local nonprofit READ is running the program and expects to start enrolling Arlington children in October, with more details available at a Sept. 13 event at Ballston Quarter.
   

• Coffee Series Featuring LTG Johnny Davis (ausa.org) — Arlington residents near Courthouse can attend an in-person AUSA Coffee Series with LTG Johnny Davis on September 29 at the Gordon R. Sullivan Conference and Events Center. The early-morning program includes coffee, breakfast, a discussion on Army recruiting, and Q&A, with free admission for military and government civilians and online registration required by September 25.
