Youth-Led “Walking For Water” Event Returns to Leesburg May 30 at Morven Park
Local students lead global impact, helping bring over 55+ water wells to communities in need

LEESBURG, VA — May 30, 2026 — On Friday morning at 8:30 AM, the fields of Morven Park will fill with students, families, and community members taking meaningful steps toward solving one of the world’s most urgent challenges: access to clean water.

Walking For Water, a youth-led initiative of Wisdom Spring, invites the public to participate in this annual community event that raises awareness and funds for clean water projects in Africa and India.

For many around the world, walking miles each day to collect water is a daily reality. This event offers participants a chance to experience a small glimpse of that journey—while supporting real solutions led by youth.

For more than 20 years, students across Loudoun County, including Tuscarora, Heritage, Dominion, Stone Bridge, and Independence High Schools, have organized and led Walking For Water events. Their efforts have helped fund over 60 water wells, providing clean water access, supporting education for girls, and strengthening communities globally.

“This event is about more than awareness—it’s about action,” said Susan Hough, co-founder of Wisdom Spring. “These young people are stepping into leadership and showing what’s possible when compassion meets commitment. They are creating real change in the world.”

The event will bring together people of all ages to walk in solidarity, celebrate youth leadership, and contribute to a growing global impact. Families, students, and local supporters are encouraged to attend.
