Chantilly Crime: Thief Steals Puppies, Police Stop Teen Driving Stolen Car

The most recent crime incidents in Chantilly involve last week's homicides (a domestic incident confined to one home), a teen driver getting stopped for allegedly driving a stolen car and a case of three stolen puppies.
Police pull over teen driving car reported stolen
Police noticed a stolen car being driven Saturday, June 22 in Chantilly and pulled over the driver, near the intersection of I-66 and Route 29, according to a crime report released Friday by Fairfax County Police.
After police pulled over the driver, and the driver stopped, one of the passengers i the stolen car got out and ran away, police said. Police did not locate him. The driver, a 17-year-old from Manassas, was charged with grand larceny and driving on a revoked license. Other passengers in the car were released.
Home near homicide incident broken into same day
In other recent Chantilly crime news, a home in the 4100 block of Sulser Place in the Westwood neighborhood off of Walney Road was broken into on Tuesday at about 11:10 a.m.
The home is about a block away from where a homicide took place the same day. Police say someone entered the Sulser Place home through an unlocked window; nothing was taken.
Thief steals three puppies in golf neighborhood
On Friday, June 21, at about 8:20 p.m., someone entered a home on the 12000 block of Golf Ridge Court, through a window and stole three puppies from the residence. No mention of what kind of puppies they were.
In the same neighborhood, on 3700 block of Golf Trail Lane, a cell phone was taken from a business, police reported.
Poodle left in hot car
Speaking of dogs, at the Fairfax Corner shopping center, in the 4100 block of Monument Corner Drive, on Saturday, June 22 at 1:55 p.m., a citizen reported a dog was left unattended in a vehicle. (The temperature that day reached 86 degrees, according to Weather Underground.)
An Animal Control Officer confirmed the temperature was rising in the vehicle. The Miniature Poodle was not injured. The owner, Hyesook Lee, 43, of Centerville, was charged with inadequate care of an animal.
