Fair Oaks District Police Report: Carjacking at Fair Oaks Mall, Man Robbed in Fairfax

A summary of incidents reported for June 16-22.

For the week ending on June 22, there were two major incidents, seven larcenies and two vehicle thefts included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report.  

Major Incidents

  • *SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN CARJACKING, ABDUCTION AND ROBBERY: Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two men who allegedly carjacked and robbed a 57-year-old Fort Washington, Maryland man. The victim had just completed a delivery to a store at the Fair Oaks Shopping Center on Wednesday, June 15 shortly after 10 a.m. A black, four-door sedan seemingly made intentional contact with the victim’s truck, causing the victim to stop and investigate. When he did so, he was approached by two of the three occupants of the black sedan. One of the suspects produced a hand gun and forced the victim back into his truck. The suspects placed a shirt over the victim’s head, tied his hands, and drove him to an unknown location in the City of Fairfax. He was released unharmed.   • ROBBERY: A 23-year-old man was reportedly robbed by two females in the 12000 block of Ridge Knoll Drive on Saturday, June 18 around 12:05 a.m. The man was talking with the two women when one reportedly displayed a knife and demanded property from the victim. The victim complied and both suspects fled on foot. The victim was not injured. The first suspect was described as Hispanic, in her late teens to early 20s. She was 5 feet tall and 130 pounds with brown hair. The second suspect was described as black, in her late teens to early 20s. She was about 5 feet tall and 130 pounds.

  • 3900 block of Centreview Drive: Tools and air compressor stolen from vehicle
  • 2900 block of Gray Street: Diamond necklace and diamond earrings stolen from residence
  • 3600 block of Joseph Siewick Drive: Cash stolen from business
  • 13200 block of Kalmia Lane: Power tools stolen from vehicle
  • 9500 block of Poplar Leaf Court: Bag of gold stolen from residence
  • 12100 block of Ragan Oaks Court: Dealer license plate stolen from vehicle 

Vehicle Thefts

  • 14000 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway: Ford Windstar
  • 3800 block of Lightfoot Street: 1997 Chevrolet Prism
