Fair Oaks District Police Report: Heavy Rain Causes Two Drowning Deaths, Attempted Burglary on Palmer Street

A summary of incidents reported for September 8-14.

For the week ending on Sept. 14, there were two major incidents, ten larcenies and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report.

Major Incidents 

  • *ACCIDENTAL DEATHS: Two people in Fairfax County died in drowning accidents following heavy, sudden rainfall on Thursday, Sept. 8. Police and fire personnel found the body of Jack Donaldson, 12, in Piney Branch Creek at Lawyers Road around 8 p.m. That evening, the body of 67-year-old Arsalan Hakimi was also found in a creek near Carrwood Drive. Detectives continue to investigate both deaths. Read the .  
  • BURGLARY: Someone attempted to burglarize a home in the 2900 block of Palmer Street between 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 and 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9.

  • 3000 block of Chain Bridge Road: Laptop computer stolen from vehicle
  • 12500 block of Fair Lakes Circle: Golf club stolen from business
  • 12200 block of Fairfax Towne Center: Food stolen from business
  • 12800 block of Gatepost Court: Cash and pants stolen from vehicle
  • 9300 block of Lee Highway: Wallet stolen from business
  • 4000 block of Majestic Lane: Coffee stolen from business
  • 13900 block of Metrotech Drive: Food and beverages stolen from business
  • 13100 block of Misty Glen Lane: Cash stolen from residence
  • 12200 block of Water Elm Lane: License plate stolen from vehicle
  • 11300 block of Westbrook Mill Lane: Jewelry stolen from residence 

Vehicle Theft 

  • 9500 block of Blake Lane: 1998 Ford
