Fair Oaks District Police Report: Sexual Assault, Bank Robbery
A summary of incidents reported for June 2-8.

For the week ending on June 8, there were three major incidents, ten larcenies and three vehicle thefts included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report.
Major Incidents
- *SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE HERNDON AREA: Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 4. Officers were initially called to an apartment in the 13700 block of Merrybrook Court around 5:30 a.m. An investigation determined the victim, a 23-year-old woman, awoke to find a man in her bedroom. The suspect displayed a weapon and sexually assaulted the victim then fled from the home. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police of the suspect. Read the full story .
- THROW MISSILE AT AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE: Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, a patrol officer’s marked cruiser was targeted while driving on Chain Bridge Road near Hibbard Street. Unknown person(s) threw a jar of pickles at the cruiser, striking the passenger side. No one was injured.
- BANK ROBBERY IN OAKTON; SUSPECT APPREHENDED: On Wednesday, June 8 shortly before 11 a.m., police responded to the report of an armed robbery at the BB&T Bank located at 2941 Chain Bridge Road. A man entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries at the bank. A lookout for the suspect and vehicle was broadcast over the police radio and the vehicle was spotted a short time later, headed for the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Maryland law enforcement authorities were notified and the suspect was apprehended in the 4600 block of Livingston Road in S.E. Washington, DC. Read the full story .
