Fair Oaks District Police Report: Woman Catches Burglar Live Via ‘Puppycam’

A summary of incidents reported for May 10-16.

For the week ending on May 16, there were three major incidents, four larcenies and no vehicle thefts included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report.

Major Incidents 

  • BURGLARY: At 2:25 p.m. on Friday, May 11, the victim reported she was watching via a “puppycam” an unknown man walking through her house on the 12300 block of Folkstone Drive. Officers responded and charged a 48-year-old Charlottesville man with burglary. 
  • ASSAULT: At 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, the victim, a 44-year-old cab driver, reported a passenger was taken to his destination on the 3000 block of Saint Regents Drive. Once there, the passenger became belligerent and punched the victim, who received minor injuries.  
  • BURGLARY: At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, officers were called to a home on the 3800 block of Highland Oaks Drive because a rear window was found broken. Jewelry and electronic equipment were taken from the home.

  • 2900 block of Chain Bridge Road: Cash stolen from business
  • 12600 block of Fair Lakes Circle: Wallet stolen from vehicle
  • 12000 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway: Laptop computer stolen from business
  • 3900 block of Pender Drive: Cell phone stolen from business
