Sully District Police Report: Centreville Man Stabs Acquaintance, Woman Stabbed and Robbed on Route 50

A summary of incidents reported for Sept. 15-21.

For the week ending on Sept. 21, there were three major incidents, seven larcenies and no vehicle thefts included in the Sully District Activity Report.

Major Incidents 

  • ABDUCTION/ASSAULT/ARREST: Police arrested a man who allegedly assaulted an acquaintance, a 47-year-old woman, during an altercation in the 14300 block of Climbing Rose Way just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13. James Barfield, 38, of 14313 Climbing Rose Way #206, was taken to jail and charged with abduction and assault.  
  • *ROBBERY: Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Monday, Sept. 19. Around 8:50 p.m. a 46-year-old woman was walking on the south side of the 13600 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway when she was approached by a younger man on a bicycle. The suspect demanded property from the woman and stabbed her in the arm with a sharp weapon. The suspect fled on his bicycle after the woman relinquished money and personal property. She was treated for non life-threatening injuries at a local hospital. Read the . 
  • BURGLARY: A home in the 13600 block of Black Spruce Way was burglarized around 9:51 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21. An investigation determined entry was forced through a door and nothing appeared to be missing.

  • 13900 block of Antonia Ford Court: License plate stolen from vehicle
  • 14000 block of Betsy Ross Lane: Gold rings stolen from business
  • 4200 block of Kincaid Court: Mail stolen from residence
  • 15700 block of Lee Highway: Metal stolen from business
  • 14500 block of Oakmere Drive: Diamond earrings stolen from residence
  • 6200 block of Prince Way: Lawnmower, humidifier and vacuum cleaner stolen from residence
  • 4900 block of Stonecroft Boulevard: Tools stolen from vehicle
