Police are looking for two unknown people who offered a girl a ride Thursday in Chantilly, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

CHANTILLY, VA — Police are looking for two unknown people who offered a girl a ride Thursday in the 26100 block of Springdale Drive, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The suspects are described as a man and a woman, both white, who were in a silver Chevrolet SUV.
In what police describe as a "suspicious incident," the girl said she was approached by the couple shortly after 6 p.m. as they drove up beside her. After she declined their offer of a ride, she went to a nearby residence of someone she knew and contacted police. Officers searched the area but came up empty.
It's the latest in a string of incidents involving strangers and children in the county over the past month or so. Just this week, a suspicious man was spotted Tuesday morning walking in the area near Sterling Middle School. And last week in Sterling, for example, a suspicious man was spotted hanging around a school bus stop. He later is said to have put his hand on a child's head.
